MY DOJO EMBLEM Seiwa Kai TableView – The meaning ..
First and Foremost is the SEIWA KAI kanji – Right down the Middle and Centre of Everything …passed down from the late Shuji TASAKI Hanshi – Founder of Seiwakai
It Rules the middle and smooths out both sides ..
The symbol represents the inter connectness of the world, particularly the natural world. There can be no positive without a negative, no open without closed, no light without shadow. The symbol itself portrays that inter relatedness.
Balance – The balance between the two sides is considered to be essential for maintaining good health and harmony in life. A healthy balance between these two opposing forces allows us to approach life with both wisdom and action, and to live in harmony with ourselves and the world around us..
Looking at the symbol, you can see it doesn’t have a straight line going through the center to represent the divide between good and Bad but the Kanji pulls it into order .
.
The outside shows how good and bad are connected and constantly flowing into and out of each other. .
The ideal situation is when there is an equal balance between the two, as that is when harmony is achieved.
You can have two sides of a story – then you have the TRUTH in the middle.
Within the symbol, not only do the white and black segments fit perfectly with each other to form a circle, each has a small circle of the other color within it to further show the connection between the two. The small circles also show that nothing is absolute. This further demonstrates the connection between the two.
The outer circle of the gi symbol represents the entirety of the universe.
It shows everything that we know, as well as things we don’t understand, but keep learning..
